October 26, 2015: Vegetarian Entree Competition at Bidwell Training Center

Congratulations to contestants of the “Anything Goes contest” this month: Natasha Bankston-Nevilles, Cora Groom, Andrea Hill, Robert Powell, Austin Dorn, and Vincent Brady.  I take from the judges’ comments that the “Vegan Entrée” entries were imaginative, beautifully presented, and very tasty. The winners were: first place, Vincent Brady with his “cauliflower Steak”; second place went to Andrea Hill entered “Empanadas with Chayote Slaw and Black Beans and Rice; and Cora Groom took home thethird place ribbonfor her “Vegan Curry with Fall Vegetables”. Special thanks to judges Chefs Tim Tain, Shaun Culp, and Art Inzinga.
