In May, our annual awards dinner was hosted by the Golf Club of Washington, in Washington County, PA. Because of the hard work of Exec Chef/Mgr. and ACFPC Treasurer Scott Burkhurt – along with his staff and the help of Chuck Baux, Ruth Beatty, and Cheryl Martin – the evening was a great success. The food and comradery were fantastic. The dinner was organized by Richard Chene CEC AAC & Cindy Tuite CEC, CCE, AAC. Cindy was also in charge of the William Foust Scholarship silent auction raising around $500.00. There were approximately 50 people in attendance which made for a very comfortable evening. It felt more like having dinner with family and friends and not a banquet.
Many awards were given out. The 2015 Board Members were recognized. President’s Awards were given to Byron Bardy, Timothy Tain, Willi Daffinger, and Chuck Baux. Bob Hruby from Three River US Food Service was recognized for 47 years of continued support to ACFPC.
The Lifetime Achievement Award went to Willie Daffinger CCE, AAC for his more than 50 years as a chef and member of the Pittsburgh Chapter. Shawn Culp CEC, MBA received the Chef of the Year Award for his dedication to the ACF and being the National Jr. Culinary Team Coach.
