March 28, 2016: Vincent Brady at The Wooden Nickel

Our March meeting was held at the Wooden Nickel 4006 Berger Lane, Monroeville, PA 15146 at 7:00 pm.  At the meeting Vincent Brady talked about the 13th annual S. Pellegrino Almost Famous Chef Competition.  Vincent Brady, a 25-year-old culinary student at the Art Institute Pittsburgh, won best signature dish at the finals. He represented the central region competing against four other winning chefs from the Southeast, Northeast, South and Northwest in an intense three-day competition. The young chef was presented with a $2,500 prize.  His winning dish was Crispy Skinned Duck Breast and Braised Duck Ravioli with Sautéed Winter Root Vegetable and Beet Silk.  This video documents Vince's experience in the competition as was shown as part of his presentation:
